MusicBanter.com Rules

These rules are meant to keep everything running smoothly at MusicBanter and, specifically, keep people from being suspended or banned -- the last things we would want to do. Therefore, if you read these rules (and you really should!) and abide by them you should have no problems from us.

Posting Guidelines:

The following are strictly prohibited:

1. Spamming of any kind on the forum or through private messages;
2. “Bumping” your own thread within 24 hours of no reply;
3. “Flaming” other members;
4. The excessive use of profane words;
5. Abusing the Management in any manner;
6. Posting in any language but English.

In addition:
7. Posts in a particular forum need to stay on topic.
8. Users may not post or upload content that is obscene, vulgar, hateful, threatening, or otherwise offensive.
9. Pornography is not allowed.
10. Offensive words or language will not be tolerated.
11. Be respectful of other users and don't attack someone personally.
12. Do not start more than one topic in a single message.
13. Posts should be coherent.
14. Using multiple accounts at a single time.
15. And finally, users should use common sense about cooperative and constructive messaging.

All decisions are final.

Feedback and any suggestions are welcome and will be taken into consideration.

Please, no time wasters.

beat yr own KID 08-26-2006 02:10 PM

Does elitism count as flaming someone cos if so you might as well ban me now haha

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 08-26-2006 02:14 PM

Not unless it becomes offensive. Hell...I'm quite an elitist sometimes, and so is everyone else. Just don't go around creating pointless arguments, and insulting people. That kind of elitism will get you banned.

ArtistInTheAmbulance 08-27-2006 02:15 PM

ive a question.
whats with the no spamming through pms?
doesnt everyone say "save it to the private messages" to spammers?

right-track 08-27-2006 02:21 PM

^
Good point AITA.
I guess it means no bothering/stalking other members via PM's...that sort of thing.

If anyone complains of being harrassed etc.

Maybe it just needs re-wording.

By the way the rules are virtually the same, with the exception of the 'banning' section', along with a few minor tweaks.

sleepy jack 08-27-2006 02:44 PM

I think it more means advertising through PMs..

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 08-27-2006 05:37 PM

I'm pretty sure its a combination of all those things.....advertising, sending spam emails, etc....

So right-track, can I get an account merge?

MoonlitSunshine 09-10-2006 03:05 PM

Wow. As far as I can figure out, this is the oldest thread in the forum...

MoonlitSunshine 10-09-2006 11:14 AM

Hey, just a question; can new members not make new threads? when I joined there wasn't a restriction on this, so I thought I'd check out what the new rules were in case it comes up again.

IamAlejo 10-09-2006 09:09 PM

Yeah it was changed to reduce spam and such.

paulrawnerve 02-08-2007 06:15 PM

does it say anything anywhere about how many posts/how long i need to be a member for before i can start my own threads? as it appears i can't.. i've been on forums in the past where you have to wait 24 hours to start a thread, or make 100 posts etc..

by the averages i'm working at right now, i should be okay in a couple hours!! heh!

paulrawnerve 02-08-2007 06:16 PM

DAMMIT!! i should have read back through the pages.

Really it should be in the first post on this thread though, cos i looked up and down it a couple times.

skindredluver 02-08-2007 07:33 PM
