When i go to the Edit Avatar page, the " Do not use avatar" button is selected. How do we unselect this and use our own avatar? Do we have to earn this? Or am I just not very intelligent?

I didn't set it up yet for normal users. Upload the picture you want as your profile picture and I'll then upload it as your avatar. I haven't figured out a system yet for how many posts you need to earn it. But for now just do that.
