Here's an idea: How about we don't spam the chat box, especially with racist comments, especially when I'm trying to introduce a friend to the site. Now he's offended and I doubt he'll join, but he probably thinks less of me now for being part of it.

The Mods made a collective decision a while ago that nobody is allowed to say it here under any circumstances, jokingly or not.

This is purely down to us not wanting people to be put off from coming here by seeing that it's allowed to be used and we also don't want members using it in conversation as if it's perfectly acceptable.

And I would ask you change it from your sig please.

well if that isn't a huge fucking inequity. then again i suppose it's somehow less offensive to say things like:

spic, wop, kike, beaner, chink, gringo, gook, raghead, wog?

at any rate, abrogating free speech for the sake of an ethnic slur is idiotic. people will find a way to inject malice into their vocabulary without the likes of racial epithets.

if you're going to forcibly trim accepted vocabulary, do it under the auspices of curtailing flaming instead of preventing people from seeing something they might find offensive.

when it's offensive BECAUSE it's inflammatory, remove it.
