I constantly have to zip back and forth through my journal for various reasons, but though there are certain pages I can go to via the top bar or whatever (it might show first, then 7 then 24 then 41 etc) I can't jump to a specific page that's not shown. If, for instance, I know I want page 73, I have to get to something close (say 80) then jump backwards, often a page at a time.

I keep a record (spreadsheet) of what I post and where, ie what page, date, what the post is etc (yeah, I'm THAT geeky! It helps though, when you want to find out when last you posted a particular review, section, special or if you featured a certain song/album/artiste before) so I know WHERE to go, at all times. Getting there, despite what they say, is NOT half the fun!

If anyone knows how to jump to a specific page in one or less moves I'd love to hear from ya! With my journal currently exceeding 120 pages, it's getting more than a little tiresome....

Thanks
TH

The only way is editing the url.

For example, the url of this thread is http://www.musicbanter.com/announcem...existed-3.html

Where the very last number is the page of the thread, in this case three.

If you edit that to http://www.musicbanter.com/announcem...existed-2.html

Then the link leads you to page two.

OK, thanks anyway. Pity the function doesn't exist, but what the hell, it's not like it's a huge hassle.

Actually there is a way to do it. Just click on the downward-pointing triangle to the right of the row of page numbers. That will bring up a tiny little drop down item with a text field where you can simply type in a page number and then click "go".

I actually never knew that. How sad, since I've been using VBulletin Forums for almost 10 years :o:

Absolutely excellent! As Burns once said to Homer, Sir, I am in your debt!

That "absolutely excellent" makes me think that your real name is Charles Montgomery Burns.

You mean, the picture and quote on the avatar didn't give it away? ;)

Ok I have to ask. What's with the Knowledge Encyclopedia and can members contribute to it?

I have no idea. There seems to be an issue with random links appearing in posts that lead to it and also other places on MB. Mods are not editing these links into the posts - we have no idea where they're coming from. Possibly the admins.
