As this is just one case, it's pretty minor. Had all the mods visibly enjoyed various privileges not available to members, I believe it would've had a negative impact on the community - or at least on the regular users/mods relationship. So basically, if it's bad when everyone does it, then I think no one should do it.

I don't mind changing it. I put it together on a whim and I was a bit careless about the length of the thing.

And since we haven't declared that there is absolutely no avatars longer than 250 pixels in height, but merely suggested they be kept to that arbitrary limit, and since we haven't denied any avatars exceeding 250 pixels in height to my knowledge, then I guess it's just a matter of whether it's annoying Tore or not.

I admit I wouldn't have approved one over the limit, and I've had people resize them within a few pixels, but I'm a stickler and I thought we were more strict on this one since we'd never had a real discussion about it before.

I'll try not to be so mean now.

The reason we implemented a limit was specifically for the width discrepancies. The height was never an issue in the past, but we just used 250 as a decent-looking guideline. The only thing that was ever mandated was the width.
