I actually agree with this. I have a religious side that I dont feel comfortable really expressing as I can't stand debates about it.

I think it's fine to do this but within reason. As long as you aren't bashing the specific member then it's okay but to stifle someone's opinion on religion because you feel like it might hurt someone else isn't a good idea imo.

I am only standing up for the few people who are religious on the forum.

There is a difference between an opinion and an ad hominem blanket statement deriding religious people (which would include the those who are on this forum) in general.

I'm against personal attacks of any kind, but most people here know by now that I'm openly spiritual/religious, but I could give less damns about whether or not people criticize my faith, I hear it so often it really doesn't faze me.

However, I do agree, it would be nice if people weren't *******s about it. Discussion is good, bashing is bad... from everyone, on any side of the "issue."

religious people in general tend to deride everyone else that doesn't agree with said religion and yes I know that's a blanket statement and all Christians aren't like that but I've come across it quite often in my experience but we can take this discussion to PMs if you want.

I understand why you say that, but for the most part, at least with my group of friends/family/acquaintances, that's just the very loud minority that makes itself out to be the majority. It's pretty aggravating, really.

That has nothing to do with anything, I just wanted to point that out.

yeah the few bad apples spoil the bunch. My experience comes from the churches that I went to while growing up. The ones that my mother dragged me to.

I third or fourth the move to hide the Lounge from "New Posts." None of the mods responded to this idea, is it feasible/possible? Would you consider doing it?
