Thanks all. In order then (ladies first of course!): thanks Jess; it was a tough week but after about six attempts I managed it. Every time I asked Google to check they came back with a DIFFERENT set of files that had been hacked. I'd delete those files, go "how about now?" and they'd come back with another set. Eventually I thought to hell with this, and just deleted every single HTML file. It upset me to do it, as I had been keeping a decent, very old website running, with one of my favourite subjects, mythology, one of the sections in it, but who knows if anyone was even reading it or knew it existed? Once the HTML files were gone, I reuploaded only images and finally got the all-clear. Thanks for your support through a difficult time.

Neap: I assume that now that trollheart.com is sorted there will be no comeback on the other journal, though I don't maintain it any more --- this is the only place for me! The problem was with my domain, and that then filtered through to my journal and anywhere else I used links to it, so at the time I would have said yes it would have been the same there. Typically, the silence from that quarter was deafening!

Stephen: Thanks for the suggestion. Postimage and the like look after the passwords as was mentioned, so whereas on my own site I was responsible for ensuring no unauthorised access, with the image hosting sites if it were to happen (and I'm not saying it wouldn't; where is safe these days?) I would assume the hoster would look after sorting it out. Hosting images here is a good idea, but I don't know where I'd do that or how much space is available. At the moment, trollheart.com seems to be working fine again.

Thanks again for all your help and hope it didn't inconvenience any of you too much.

TH
(With a clean bill of health!)

I wasn't laughing at your situation just the fact that someone decided to troll trollheart.com with a website name like that it's almost like asking for it.

It attracts trolls!

It's true. But then, at the time I bought the domain I was using Trollheart as my internet handle anyway so it just seemed appropriate. I nevr realised the word troll had such negative connotations on the web. As I mentioned before, it comes from a character in one of my unfinished novels, a general in the troll army. Shoulda made him a goblin!

I'm not sure what sort of space limits there are but you access it through your control panel.

Yes Goblin Knight or Goblin King! Missed opportunity on your part.

Ah yes, but in my novel the goblins were the eternal enemies of the trolls...

Your novel is strange. Goblins and Trolls are usually on the same side of things with an uneasy alliance but it's still there.

Yeah I hear you. But my trolls were based more on the Star Trek Klingon idea: proud warriors, big on honour, tradition, all that. I wanted to take them from the two-dimensional monsters they're usually depicted as and explore some real mythology and history, make them a real race like elves or dwarves in fiction. Mind you, would have helped if I'd finished the book and got it published!

Goblins? Well, there's no reforming goblins, is there?

I love me some Goblins though, well the way that they are depicted in the World of Warcraft series. They are a bunch of shady business men that will sell their own mothers for gold. They are super oppurtunistic. Also the way that you describe Trolls is how they are in World of Warcraft as well they just also happen to be in the same faction with goblins so they aren't mortal enemies.
