Default Posting Links, GIFs, and Pictures

Can we link it to length on the forums and not post count?

What would be the ideal minimum?

A month. I don't think it needs to really be more than that (though 3 doesn't seem excessive).

I think it would just take a lot of potential spammers out.

A month is doable, definitely, but I don't know how much better that would be at curbing spammers. Some manage to spam without even reaching the 15 post minimum, by just saying "go look me up on YT" or something like that.

It would cut down on the ones just trying to post an actual link, for sure. It seems like this would be something the admin would need to implement, if it's possible to do so.

All joking aside, it would at least relieve us of the spammers that post one-off comments to as many threads as they can as fast as they can to get to their 15 posts as quickly as possible, mucking up the new posts search function

I see it more as setting a standard. i.e. "This community wants an investment from you, if you want to post things like this, you need to become a community member."

Its less for robots, and has the added bonus of telling new comers that we give a crap about our boards.

Reasonable time requirements would be a plus for certain things such as these. I fully back this.
It works in other places. We just have to convince a higher authority. Either way, if we all come up with a good number to pass along in a request, I'm behind it. IN ADDITION to post count requirements. Double threat. Be here long enough with enough posts, you get to do your thang.

I'm inclined to say, in that case, that we make the post-count higher. But the ambitious troll might actually try before getting caught, and thats no good.

For what my 2 cents is worth, lets make it a month and 15 posts.
