However bad mod logic is, at least it ain't that.

I am just saying, I'm not sure why it's tolerated.

I've seen it a few times Vowels, including once toward myself and that time it definitely wasn't a joke.

Frownland 02-12-2019 07:27 AM

It's tolerated because it's flippant and clearly a joke.

For those cases you mentioned, I can provide instructions on how to use the report function if you like.

It was an example of a joke that crosses the line. Im not going to go down this road with you and your obvious attempts to misrepresent the point i made because you dont like one of many possible examples i chose to use.

Sometimes it's been clearly a joke. It wasn't when it was said to me though.

But anyway we can post anything we like, just as long as we say 'it's just a joke bro'? Great!

Those jokes don't cross my line tbf. The report button exists if you see something that got past the evident mod bias, but we're not going to treat what are obviously jokes with the same gravity as homophobic and anti-Semitic jokes from someone who has a history of being very serious about both.

Report it then.

You can't fall back on that alone, your posts actually need to reflect it. Luckily you have moderators who are capable of discerning humour for you in those confusing ambiguous cases.

Cuthbert 02-12-2019 07:38 AM

You know very well that I do use the report feature.

It was seen by mods at the time, I said it was a serious comment at the time and nothing was done so it would have been pointless reporting it.

I wanted to mention it and I've mentioned it. Bye.

Those jokes dont cross the line for me either when they arent malicious bs disguised as jokes. And i PMed a mod one time about a situation i found concerning and got told it was no big deal so theres not much incentive to reach out to mods. Id rather call people out in threads where i see a problem as ive done in the past. At least putting them on blast publicly creates discussion about bad behavior versus your behind the scenes “warnings” that seemingly do nothing.

Frownland 02-12-2019 07:46 AM

@Fluff Ja I remember you reporting digital blackface etc.

Report what you feel crosses the line. Mods won't always agree that it's a banworthy or infraction worthy offense, but it's a much better tactic for maintaining consistent modding than this hindsight whataboutism.

Lulz. Check your confirmation bias dude.

Good talk.

Dear critics,

it's really damn hard to be consistent with modding here. I don't think anybody wants to have totally fascist modding here, where nothing in any way controversial can be said.
Drawing the line is hard and of course personal bias comes into play, just as it comes into play, when you are criticising our decisions. Please also consider, that there is lots of stuff happening on MB that we don't see and lots of stuff that you don't see.
