Looks like videos are back, albeit huge!

It's great that we have them back again, but what's with the massive size? I mean, in a journal entry where there are three or four videos this is going to look ****ing huge. I don't get the sudden change in size. I know size matters and all, but still...

It's nice and all that the videos are back but they're not just like I like them so I'm afraid I will be leaving this site.

Does anyone know if it's possible to link to a YT playlist? If I put the whole thing in the tags it don't work, so I have to cut it down and that means it only plays the first song, or whichever one the original link refers to. It probably can't be done, but just in case anyone knows how?

e.g. Genesis - Abacab [*url="the whole link to the playlist"]name of the playlist[/url*] minus the * ofc |
Hmm. Okay. Thanks for that, man. :thumb:

Has anyone noticed that YouTube embeds seem to throw off the justification/alignment of posts? What I mean is, I've seen that every time I put a YouTube into a journal post it kicks the text to the left, making it look the way it does if you use an image that's too big. It's definitely happening, as I've tested by placing the video in spoiler tags, and the text re-aligns perfectly.
Now, I can put YT in spoiler tags - most of my material these days is historical in nature so I don't tend to use them as much - but I wonder is this a problem with the forum, or with YouTube, and has anyone noticed it happening other than me, and more importantly, does anyone have any other kind of fix for this? |

I'm going to ask again. I see others seem to be able to post YouTubes without them taking up as much space as mine seem to do, shifting everything and enlarging the post. I've checked and nobody seems to be using any new code or anything, so am I doing something wrong, or am I just unlucky that the videos I choose are acting this way? Surely not. Any (serious) replies appreciated. Not you, ori.

not sure what you mean..testing testing...
I done this by share and copy and paste....not by the URL your turn.....testing testing |

then Take on the World.......:stupid: |
Love that clip. And that show. :)
It appears to only be happening on my side, as regards the videos. Frown says nobody else can see it, so it's just me. Which is, I guess, not too bad. If I'm not ruining the justification of my posts, if they only look off to me, I suppose I'll have to live with that. Could be worse. |
You're not the only one. We seem to be getting a lot of video unavailables on our side of the pond lately.

We're too poor to be able to afford copyright. :(

I speak with a female now a friend.. in South Africa on an over50's chat forum and she often cannot see the videos we see in France and the British Isles...She is under 50 as it happens but still ok to be a member.....just the videos...

Tell her to use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) - it fools the system into thinking you're from another country than your own. There are cheap, and free ones, and one is built into Opera and maybe Edge?
Edit: No, not Edge, it seems. Bloody Microsoft. :( |
