Imgur has a nifty edit function that lets you resize your images.

Well, since you asked:

- The ability to tag members in posts and have it notify them, thus alerting them to pertinent conversation.

- A "Spill Your Guts / Get The Hatred Out" type of thread where users can funnel their anger and say whatever they want without it spilling into other threads and without the threat of being banned. Keep it contained. If it starts spilling over, warnings and bans should ensue.

- Once a member's journal is approved, they should be able to moderate it them self, deleting posts that they don't want in it, etc. Also, once a journal is approved, subsequent posts to it shouldn't have to go through a mod before being posted.

- Some sort of image editor to be included in the site so that we can better change our own avatars ourselves, instead of running to the mods for help [or maybe I'm just retarded when it comes to that].

That's just off the top.

- Quoting pretty much takes care of this. There's a feature in your settings to send you email notifications when you get quoted that has a link to the direct quote.

- Every thread has turned into a spill your guts thread nowadays.

- I agree that the journal restrictions are a bit dated. We can try adjusting them.

- This could go either way. I think approval is still important to screen for nudity and whatnot.

EDIT - Didn't see Frowns response. We pretty much lined up though.

I get notifications when people quote me.

Anyway, I think the only one I care even slightly about is the journal post approval thing. I'm actually waiting for that right now! And guess what? It's balls!

The workaround is easy though: Make a regular thread and post your stuff there instead.

Sure, but paint.net has more features and generally produces better quality than paint. I believe you can control the compression of your photo in p.net.

I also feel it's important to note that us Mods are really at the mercy of the system admins and Advameg engineers. Yac is NOT an above all be all decision maker. She talks to the web designers and asks if things can be done. Some things can't. These upvote and tag ideas are good but it may just be not feasible with this website.

Key 10-24-2018 10:39 AM

It would be nice not to have to have entries approved. Make things much easier I'm sure.

MicShazam 10-24-2018 10:51 AM

It's honestly no biggie, but it's the only thing that would make a difference of some sort for me if it was changed.

Again why dont you (the mods) list what special privs you have to help members brainstorm ideas that can ACTUALLY be implemented. I dont get why youre being so dodgy about answering this question directly.

I have a girly beard.

EDIT: I can edit your posts.

OccultHawk 10-24-2018 12:23 PM

I never felt like they were being cryptic

grindy 10-24-2018 12:24 PM

None.
We can ban people, see IPs, approve avatars and journal posts, read redacted posts.
That's about it.
