Ahn, The Rescue might be weak. Sometimes I can't tell because the albums are linked to such good times that I carry too big a bias.

Speaking of Mono, I listened to 'You Are There' the other day. Still fantastic stuff. Also, 'Come On Die Young' by Mogwai has been getting pretty good plays from me. I like it's emotional intensity in place of the musical intensity of Young Team.

I have to say that besides Mogwai's s/t EP, I'm not a big fan. Their album "Happy Songs For Happy People" was extremely disappointing in every way, from the music to the album art.

Mogwai aren't very good in general IMO. I'd listen to Godspeed, Sigur Ros, EitS, or Oxbow over them anyday.

Mogwai just seem to try too hard. Their dynamics, build-ups/crescendos are done all wrong, and it never gets to a point of intensity. What's post-rock without build-ups anyways?

They're definitely my favorite post-rock groups. Also up there is Mono.

YES! I missed seeing them Saturday and I'm still kicking myself. One of the heavier post rock groups but OH so good. I disagree on Mogwai, though I guess I can see your point. Before completely dismissing them though, make sure you give 'My Father My King' a listen, as it might be my favorite post rock song ever.

'Mogwai Young Team' has some of the best dynamically lead post-rock out there. They're the forefathers of Crescendo Post-Rock. Although, Mogwai edges on Instrumental Rock a lot of the time which means less of the common build.

Besides, I'm getting tired of Crescendo Post-Rock. 'Explosions Will Destroy Your Mogwai' is getting boring. There's seldom originality in it anymore.

Which is why I've been looking for more unique voices in post-rock. The best ones being God Is An Astronaut and Sigur Ros.

I checked out 'Far From Refuge' the other week, and I'm still getting into it. God In An Astronaut seems good from it, though.

+ Caspian Four Trees

This Will Destroy You, Mooncake, and If These Trees Could Talk are all must listens if you like GIAA/Caspian.
