I think they're great. All of their albums are quite different though - I'd say Eye of the Storm is the most accessible and probably the best. Which one did you hear?

i love all post-rock, but i have never heard anything like godspeed you! black emperor. they're close to flawless, in my mind. dead flag blues is arguably the most amazing piece of music i have ever listened to.

I don't really like them, I've never been into that "free folk" crap though. I wouldn't call it post-rock either.

I added my post-rock mix to the beginning of the thread but I left the original post too because I mentioned some amazing bands, most of which are featured on the comp. I also merged the 32943 post-rock threads we had.
