The town I'm from, Louisville KY, had a rather large post-rock scene in the early 90s, with bands like Slint, Rodan, Rachel's (who will playing at this experimental rock festival in nearby Lexington with the Black Angels, Bardo Pond, and Faust in October. It's going to blow my face apart), and Crain. Makes me wish I was a little bit older at the time so I could have enjoyed it in it's time. The bassist from the British proto-post-rock band Dif Juz lives here in town now, and is currently in an experimental dub band with my friend's older brother, so that's pretty cool.
