Really enjoyed this thread I've got to say.
Discovered about a million new bands... or 23, one of those numbers.

but.....
no one's mentioned Delia Derbyshire and where she started working - the BBC radiophonic workshop or one of the bands she worked with - White Noise. (although cromagnon got a mention).
also... there's the Icelandic band called 'mum' (I know - really unsearchable term, but you can find it on soulseek) and a great french band called 'dure mere'.

otherwise - thanks for all those who uploaded and suggested some great titles..........

Oh.. and a lot of these will be going up on pisextra dot wordpress dot com. a compilation blog of music that tends to get below most people's radar. though - to be fair, not most people here. their radars are quite low...

I wouldn't call them heavy-heavy metal or black metal or anything, more like heavier-end rock, but if you like experimentation and abnormal/uncommon deliveries I highly recommend these guys:

Polkadot Cadaver / Dog Fashion Disco / El Creepo (Related acts)
Diablo Swing Orchestra
Pin-Up Went Down

... And Igorrr (Yes, 3 r's).... He's a little out there. Rarely any vocals but it's the instrumentation that does it.. he's basically the Dr. Frankenstein of classical music. No lies. I get mixed responses when I show people his work. Some love it, some think it's trash, hahahaha. I love it though.

Oh, Öxxö Xööx, too. Not as experimental and crazy, but definitely different.

How to destroy angels is Trent Reznor's collective with his wife, Mariqueen, and his friends Rob Sheridan and Atticus Ross. Their new EP, An omen, is out and is really great if you're into that dark and eerie sort of feel.
