Check them out.
Ruins is ****ing amazing(Note: Tatsuya Yoshida in my avatar). Burning Stone, Hydrogroingem, and Graviyonouch are brilliant albums some of my personal favorites.

I was into Ruins before I got into MB or Boredoms. I still consider Boredoms the best of the bunch though. Of all Japanese avant garde though I might go with Kaoru Abe.

The only real relation to Boredoms, and Ruins is the fact that they're Japanese. They really don't have all that similar of a sound. I mean, apart form non-sense screamy lyrics, but even those are done in a very different way. I personally like Ruins better but that's simply because they astound me technically. Boredoms I could understand people would like better for inventiveness. Then again, you're still comparing apples to oranges.

Besides, Bondage Fruit, and Koenji Hyakkei are lightyears ahead of anything else I've heard out of Japan. Koenji, in my eyes, may be the best but I think Bondage Fruit is ridiculously underrated.

Wow, a lot of posts and suggestions. I'm a bit surprised considering this sub forum isn't all that active. Thank you very much.
