Please break down Krautrock for me.
 

And provide some essential listening while you're at it. Late to the party, but this genre now intrigues me.

(P.S. I didn't get into The Beatles until the early 80s, and The Stones until about 10 years ago.)

This is better than the Prog/Psych sub so it stays here.

I don't want to discourage anyone from exploring new areas,
but I just want to say that everything that "krautrock" represents
sits in complete opposition to what I know of your personal tastes.
Basically, the British and American ideas of blues and rock 'n' roll
are completely antithetical to the German rock movement starting
in the late 60s. But, of course, if you're open to its openness of form,
then there are some well-produced videos out there on YouTube
that will open that mysterious, kosmische door.

I'm really typecast around these parts. I listen to much, much more stuff than I guess I've represented here. Blues rock is definitely my foundation since that's what I grew up with during the young formative teenage years, but I've expanded a LOT since then.

It's still energetic music with drums and guitars. If you take that perspective, it might as well fit Chula like a glove.

Knowing your taste chules...I'd start with Can and Gila and take it from there. Not sure if Popol Vuh or Faust would please your ear but it may.
