"Song"?
Siefrieds Tod und Trauermarsch, Wagner. |
Adagio for Strings, Barber

the rite of spring...composer not known to me at this time...oh well... song still rules.
|
Igor Stravinsky, sir.
|
He's not exactly a Classical composer either, as he was one of the pioneers of 20th century Modernist composing. The Rite of Spring is amazing though, good choice.
There's a good article on Stravinsky here: http://www.time.com/time/time100/art...travinsky.html And compositions without words are called PIECES, not songs, dammit! |
And as long as I'm sidetracked on modern composing.... Harry Partch's "Barstow" and his somewhat harder to find "US Highball" are amazing, as are Charles Ives' "They are There!" and his three-part "Three Places in New England".

|
So I'm not really into classical music, but I like to talk so I am saying that I like Stevie Vai's version of Beethoven's 5th.
|
I just thought of something... I don't like a whole lot of techno stuff but there are a lot of techno remixes of classical songs that are pretty sweet ;)
