This thread needs to be locked so DJ and Frown can give up on this argument.

No, they just talked about the question posed in the thread title but not in the OP which are two different questions.

I listen to some classical music, I'm today's audience. I got some Beethoven and Mozart on my Ipod. What now!

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Today's audience refers to mainstream radio.

I listen to classical music too.

I have Mozart, Beethoven and Romanovsky on my cell phone too.

In that case, jazz, shoegaze, powerviolence, flamenco, psychedelic rock, and any other number of genres is irrelevant, since it's not played on mainstream radio.

They aren't relevant when put against Burning Down's initial question in the OP.

This isn't about the definition of what relevancy it.

This entire discussion is supposed to be based off of mainstream radio.

Dude. It is ****ing not. You keep telling people to read and understand the OP but you really ought to take your own advice. "Today's music"=\=exclusively mainstream radio. Get it through your head.

She gave examples of what she meant by Today's music.

today's music (pop, rock, metal, electronica, etc)
It might not mean exclusively mainstream radio but it definitely means what's considered popular so why not go off of mainstream radio/billboard charts?
