What seems sad to me is that most of the people who say it's still "relevant" believe that "classical music" is something along the lines of the soundtrack of Frozen, the inspiration behind Eric Carmen's "All by myself", and BBC's disgusting Last Night of the Proms. I'd rather become an ICP groupie and chug sugar water at every show than sit through 15 minutes of this:

I can see that, I love the whole carnivalesque aspect of it: a gathering of the juggalos is where all the rules that govern your normal life are suspended, you do the opposite of what you would do in everyday life etc. Seems cool.

Used to be but that approach isn't really relevant anymore.

Consider this: for 362 or 363 or even 364 days a year you listen to good music.

But for the remainder of the year you suspend or even overturn all your ideas about what is good music and embrace the joys of dissolving yourself in the crowd, of no longer knowing or caring where you end and your neighbor begins, of gurgling brightly colored soda pop and whatever else they do for fun. Sounds interesting, no?
