I would also avoid joining the army if at all possible, so I can't really criticise Trump for that, but if you learn that about yourself, that you are a coward when it comes to fighting for your country, I think you should be careful how you talk about soldiering and patriotism thereafter.
With Trump's history he shouldn't be bullying NFL players to display greater patriotism imo, and he certainly shouldn't' ve said the following:-
About POWs: "I prefer soldiers who aren't captured"
About a guy killed in action: "He knew what he was signing up for."
To soldiers fighting ISIS: "“Everybody’s talking about the progress you’ve made in the last few months since I opened it up,” he said.“They weren’t letting you win before."
These comments all have the effect of trying to disregard or belittle the efforts and sacrifices made by serving soldiers.
