In the USA the EPA is being gutted by a meglomanic taking backhanders from the oil industries. They are reducing National Parks and approving oil pipelines. I was just pointing out that OH is arguing as if we aren't doing anything to sustain ourselves and selfishly burning through all our resources. He's being hyperbolic about the destruction of the environment. I'll happily concede its an issue and this presidency is certainly not helping.

Also, why are you equating ag to monoculture when it's not a permanent environment? Yes, they are monocultures in the sense that it's all the same crop in the field at a given time, but that's typically only the case for a single season, which doesn't have the same impact as a permanent monoculture ecosystem. Are you going to ignore the advances in ag practice, such as crop rotation and tilling methods, that work towards increasing sustainability? The instant you stop farming most land, that uses ag practices aimed at prereserving top soil and it's health, you will have early successional species growing.

I'm not taking a side.. Just pointing out that your "facts" are not facts. Just because humans contribute to invasive species distribution doesn't mean that natural colonization isn't also a factor.. Invasive species are not only a man made phenomenon if it can also occur naturally.. derp.

You clung to the fact that I made a couple trolly comments and ignored everything else. Yes, I agree we are a destructive force, but not so destructive that 1) we don't have room for continued population growth and 2) we also work towards restoring the things we fuck every day and research ways to improve our practices to be less destructive.
