The psychology behind it fascinates me. There is nothing Trump supporters love more, besides Trump, than defending him. Flying off the handle all Chula-like, even though well intended, only suspends actual discussion because now we're focused on the response. I could point to the whole years worth of awful Trump sh*t but that would muddy the waters.
The White House is willing to let a hostile foreign power with history of f*cked up sh*t question US citizens. Effectively throwing our own people to the wolves. That's your winning hand. Stop playing cards and focus on the winning hand. |

What really gets me is how the religious right has embraced Trump. He holds absolutely none of their values yet they praise him like he's the second coming of Jesus Christ. Maybe they're right about the anti-Christ but maybe they're the ones that are being fooled. |

Sorry Exo, but I disagree with you about Trump. The media's general hysteria with all things Trump related is a far bigger issue than the man himself.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-44892889 Trump never said he was going to do a trade with Russia of any kind. Trump did say that Putin made the offer and he thought it could be a good deal depending on the conditions (as in, no torture involved), but then all these media outlets ran with a story about Trump agreeing to it before anyone could get a word in edgewise. We live in an era where stories, reactions and information travels so quickly that the story's relevancy is often made moot once we get more clarity or the situation develops a bit more. But because of the media's ADD, nobody ever gets the story "right" the first time and instead the market gets flooded with misinformation.

I think that the current media's overall reflection of late stage capitalism and America's culture war is more worrisome than their Trump hysteria (which is, in fact, very real).

But Trump was considering allowing Putin to interrogate American intelligence officers. By accounts the offer was made during their behind doors meeting. It was only after the senate voted 98-0 against it that Trump did another flip flop.
Doesn't help him that he's publicly bashing every news agency except Fox as FAKE NEWS over and over again. Did you know that some of his ardent supporters have taken to verbally assaulting the press pools (except Fox) at his rallies? Saw an interesting interview with a former white house stenographer. She was saying that previous administrations had a stenographer present pretty much all the time, so that if the president was called out on something he could simply reply "check the transcripts". Trump isn't using one the majority of the time. That way he can just cry FAKE NEWS when he gets called out. He's simply his own worst enemy. The press is taking way too much heat for simply reporting on the things he does, says, or what their inside sources find out.
