When I was working at Ebay they had the world series on all the T.V.s and a lot of soccer fans crawled out of the wood works. And other than my coworker who was on a soccer team, I don't think any of them were passionate enough about it to where a jersey or a team logo like they would with football, baseball or basketball. Or, hell, even hockey. But they're out there. I think it's more of a thing they like between preferred sports.

And yet somehow my country you know nothing about gives a ****. It's pretty amazing how the third most attended sport in my country has not the slightest amount of hype.

I guess you'll never consider that any more than you'll consider anything else anyone has ever told you that you don't want to accept.

True. MLS is trendy right now and fun and people are showing out for games. But like compared to football there’s no comparison. Everyone at work knows who won and who lost every top 25 college football game the previous Saturday. On Monday, everyone knows if there were any upsets in the NFL. Just for conversation with a coworker there’s going to be a good chance they don’t even know MLS is a thing.

I still think Bat is too dismissive of 50,000 plus fans making it to the games but other countries don’t get how sports crazy America is. I’ve compared soccer in Europe to college football in America. The numbers of fans who make it to games consistently in America are much higher than soccer in Europe. If MLS totals 1% of what football is here that’s still huge. Counting high school, college, and NFL and how woven into our cultural fabric football is 1% of that is huge.

It top trends on social media regularly. That is a decent amount of hype. Thanks.

NBA arenas are intentionally small. The season is 82 games. LeBron James alone is more famous than all of MLS combined.
