You want Americans to turn away from football and abandon it for soccer so soccer can globally be known as football like you feel it rightfully should be.

I don't get bothered by people calling it soccer, it would be silly considering the origin of the word.

I meet enough annoying football and basketball fans as it is. The idea that another sport might force me to have yet more sports conversations I want no part in is sickening. And when those sports fans try to blow smoke up my ass when I know nobody actually cares all I want is to push them down the stairs.

Luckily I know that whatever the truth is Fluff doesn't smell a whiff of it.

I don't like soccer. Nobody I know likes soccer either. However I do know there are some big-time fans out there in my country. Definitely wayyy more football fans, though.

about 24.4 million people play soccer in the US. Sounds reasonably big to me, since first hand participation rates are ussually lower than simply watching a sport on TV.
