not one of those alien conspiracy things, it was I think the lead astronomy guy at Yale who floated it being alien tech

And another science dude called the first guy out on being a gullible fool, saying that it could be explained with something simpler than "omg aliens". Didn't read further and the article was Danish, but that's roughly what happened, I think.
