Nope, even if one politician is campaigning to educate people on the most effective ways to seek asylum.

More importantly, if Canada did the same as the US does, it would be equally wrong.

I'm more interested in the question of whether it's right than if it's what might tend to happen.

The government is always right, they answer the questions for us.

The government is just incompetent, whether they do the right or wrong thing. Plus having spent some more time reading through documentation, the asylum laws in the U.S. are kinda amazing - I'm surprised every would-be terrorist or anarchist hasn't tried to take advantage of them to get into the U.S. already. You get an entire year or so to file the necessary paperwork before anyone follows up on you...that's more than enough time to blow up a few cities.
