I never understood when people talked about the holiday blues until fairly recently, but over the past several years I’ve noticed that I tend to get kind of depressed around Christmas. Combine that with the way it’s shoved down your throat for two months leading up to it, and I’m really not a fan. It’s a shame because I used to love it.

It's true that Christmas stuff start being everywhere far too early, but I manage not really to engage until I'm going home to my parents for the holiday.

I always feel despair January 1st instead. Like, "here we go again"

Hopefully I'll feel happy after New Year for once. I've had some good things happening this year.

But if I was fleeing the U.S. for some reason toward South America and someone offered me the same deal Mexico offered the migrants, I would have taken it.
