“the new day brought gruesome discoveries and a grim new record. As of late Friday, officials said nine people have been killed, and more than 6,700 buildings – the vast majority of them homes – have been destroyed in Butte County, making the Camp Fire the most destructive blaze in state history.
In 24 hours, the fire has reached 90,000 acres – more than 140 square miles. Fire containment is at 5 percent.”

“what’s happening here is that it’s the ultimate example of Trumpian corruption. We have good reason to believe that Trump and his associates are selling out America for the sake of personal gain. When it comes to climate, however, they aren’t just selling out America; they’re selling out the whole world”

^ Wow. The forces of nature are just brutal: this disaster has happened so fast, with fires at one point expanding at a rate of one football field per second. The confusion about escape routes seems paricularly tragic to me. In the movies, the hero hops in a car and escapes as a matter of course. The reality is that ordinary people find themselves making split-second life or death decisions without having the overall picture; just horrible.

^ Yes, and as for catastrophes that are increasing because of global warming, Trump's response to mass shooting incidents shows a similar lack of accountability. Did you see the grieving woman this morning, who lost her son at the Borderline Bar, saying, "I don't want thoughts. I don't want prayers. I want gun control." ? IMO she is right to be furious at the politicians with their glib condolences who won't shift from their NRA (or from their fossil fuel) agendas. I wish those politicians would just one time the victims, "That's bad luck. Today, for your sake, I'm going to put on my serious face on all the way to the bank."

I read about it.

I don’t care how utopian or unreachable this is: the entire government needs to be disarmed and so do the citizenry

Repeal the Second Amendment

Defund the military to zero. Disarm the police.

No I’m not joking. This is what must be done.

Lisnaholic 11-10-2018 06:49 AM

As you can prob guess, OH, I'm only with you as far as disarming the citizenry really. If that was achieved, then reducing the guns available to cops would be feasible too.

You can’t model violence and expect peace.

Weaponry has to be surrendered simultaneously or there will be no trust. Without trust the gun in the hand will be dropped only to be replaced by the one hidden next to the ankle. There has to be goodwill on both sides. Warriors are often commended for being courageous but peace takes the most courage.

Anteater 11-10-2018 07:40 AM

You take away the guns you'll just get people throwing acid on eachother's faces like they do over in the U.K. :D

rostasi 11-10-2018 08:48 AM

People can have all the guns they want,
but make it incredibly, almost prohibitively,
expensive to get ammo. You'll still be able
to happily exhibit your penis extensions for
all of your boyfriends to oooh, and aaah over.

I’m not much of an expert on it but ammo would be pretty easy create and distribute on the black market.

DRI started out as a hardcore band with metal influences making almost no songs 2 minutes long, then they went straight thrash, got bloated, and lost a lot of their energy. You should totally check this out though. Right at the cusp of going thrash but with a total speed demon hardcore approach.

Guys, this is profound. Don't let it be lost on you. We must lead my example. That being said, a few select, precision assassinations would do this world some good.

Anyone else heard anything about Broward County, Florida and their f*cked up election? Supposedly, they are counting ballots in private and shredding ballots.

Also, a bunch of uncounted ballots were supposedly found stashed at the same mailing center from which the "mail bombs" are said to have originated.

Quote:

"There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor," Trump tweeted. "Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!"

Holds five. The feeling of blasting off all five in like ten seconds or whatever is an incredible rush. It’s an amazing amount of energy being released. I can’t imagine how ****ing crazy it would be to shoot all 31 rounds in a quick procession. But for me, I like my revolver, I know exactly how it works. I like that I can see and understand the mechanism.

Yes, Anteater, that's a pretty grisly innovation in violent crime, courtesy of the Brits, but if this guy had been throwing acid out the hotel window, at least the death count would've been lower:-

^ You' re right, it sounds like a real stretch and I'm not sure I'd make that exact claim, but:-

i) Trump is overseeing policies that exacerbate global warming, which is generally agreed to be a factor contributing to more frequent and more devastating forest fires.
ii) He's also responsible for removing $10 million* from FEMA's annual budget, thus impeding their ability to respond to natural disasters.

* The money has been reallocated to ICE, and in fact:
Quote:

The transfer was a part of more than $200 million the Department of Homeland Security moved from the budgets of other agencies to ICE’s detention and removals.

No. I’m just saying it’s a pretty nasty time to attack people who work in forestry and really crazy to say you’re going to cut funding when it’s needed most. I quoted you but I didn’t mean to draw a direct line there. I’m just saying that’s what he said and he often threatens California with pulling federal funding like with the sanctuary city ****. I think America needs California much more than California needs America and I would like y’all to a Calexit and have a break up of the union in general. I want America to die. Florida should Flexit.
