I'm not talking about the government. I don't care what country you live in, if you're a doctor you're a servant to the human race in general, and considering the massive amount of trust that must be put into doctors for people to allow them to stick their fingers up their ass then yeah doctors do owe the public that service if they want to be allowed get into the field/anus.
|
You wrote "public servant". That's an employee of the government.
Now, if you mean "public slave", then that's a different kettle of fish, because it seems you want to force medical professionals to use their skills, even if they aren't compensated. |

What if a doctor doesn't want to treat people if s/he's not compensated? Should s/he be forced to provide medical services?
|
I'd say a doctor that would walk by someone bleeding to death on the street is a cuck on another level from you or me walking by and depending on the situation yeah I'd say ignoring someone in need of medical attention should be grounds for having your license taken away.
|
Fair enough. Have you ever heard of a story where a doctor has done this?
|
What's your point?

We all have our moments. I'm sure you'll be thinking more clearly when you're sober.

I think we're throwing around the words "owed" and "entitled to" a bit too arrogantly. Quote:

That's been the case for majority of my jobs. Especially when working for Sodexo where my boss could hardly even afford an apartment. The ****tiest revelation is when you find out you work twice as hard as people that get paid much much more than you. You know the stupid stereotypical stories you get from delusional parents that tell you they used to walk 3 miles home from a job or some **** to afford their house or their new car? That's me except I still can't afford a car or even an apartment. And my insurance is trash. Most people with my conditions could hardly even hold a job and I've had to with no treatment or care for it just to struggle to get by. I don't understand why the same people that shove the "life isn't fair" **** down your throat are the same ones that believe you get what you earn. You don't. You get taken advantage of because there is nothing you can do about it. |
Isn't the important thing what should be a part of the terms of employment in a just world?
Healthcare is a great thing but capitalist scum don't care if you die, so that's that :) |

Sodexo was the devil, though. They are greedy scam artists that pull the shadiest ****. I know I've said it before, but they would charge $30 for a pitcher of crystal light and call it fruit punch. |

Okay, not making judgements of doctors is strawmanning doctors. What's the other part?
|
Wouldn't "strawmanning doctors" have to involve misrepresenting arguments made by doctors in order to make said arguments easier to defeat?
|
He set the medical profession up as an opponent, assuming their position might be to not help others in need. This is not how doctors act, but it was a ridiculous position that was easily attacked and knocked down.
|
When did I do this? I think you just jumped on "public servants" and when I made it clear I wasn't talking about government officials you just jumped to something else cause otherwise you'd have nothing to bitch about. Maybe you're just strung out having to deal with your middle-aged pregnant wife and her beef curtains.

I think I misunderstood what a strawman argument means. I got the gist, but I misapplied how its used.
Your ad hominem, however, is clear. |

She worked those jobs for a short time and really got an inside look about their lives and how hard they work. A lot of people have to work more than one job to get by, and at the end of the day they're exhausted. Every day. It's grueling and really rather hopeless. A powerful book, that.

Yeah, that's a great read.

► Israeli PM BENJAMIN NETANYAHU Calls For 3 More Israels In The Middle East
^ Democracy in the Middle East would be a good thing, but considering how the country chooses to act, 1 Israel is more than enough. ► New York Times Calls For The Elimination Of The Human Species Because Of Climate Change ^ Are humans hurting this planet? Yes. But what would this planet be without us? You want to kill all humans so that the animals can have a sweet place to live? GTFOH. ► Texas Public School Teacher Fired For Refusing Oath To Israel ^ This is definitely illegal. This is what happens when the U.S. government gets infiltrated by foreign nationals with dual citizenship who push legislation that makes it a crime for private citizens and businesses to boycott another nation's goods and services [i.e. practice ones free will]. |

Something completely different. Love the idea and the responses are hilarious. |
