In a most extraordinary news story dominating British media, it seems that a 99-year-old man has died peacefully at home after recently being unwell. Members of his family have reacted by being sad about his death.
I'll let you all know if I get any more details of this hard-to-believe sequence of events. |
This is serious apparently. I mean, come on: it's a cartoon show! Are we that up ourselves that this has to happen?? PC society gone mad? Or am I wrong?

Can you imagine when the Queen goes? |
I think that's hilarious. BBC execs think they're living in the fifties or something, when news like that would have people jumping off bridges or cancelling weddings or whatever. They refuse to accept that Britain is so cosmopolitan now that a lot of people don't care so much about the Royal Family, and with the treatment "outsiders" have got, plus the emigration of Harry and Meghan, it's just not the big deal it used to be.
Plus it's only Prince Philip: what did he ever do, other than drive well after he should have been having the sense to be driven around? And he was ninety-****ing-nine! How long did people expect him to live?? |
Biden to Withdraw All Combat Troops From Afghanistan by Sept. 11

1. Architecture. You learn early on that the most satisfying way to use materials is to let them be and look like themselves. That's why real flowers are nicer than plastic ones, and why this type of stone cladding is not very convincing. Everyone can work out that it's a brick house: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...NvDlw&usqp=CAU 2. I suspect that there are not a bunch of job opportunities for actual Indian voice-over actors, so to have given the job to HA is a missed chance to spread the wealth of the entertainment industry around a little more. I don't want to use today's "woke" attitudes to beat up people who made what used to be perfectly acceptable choices for their era, but hasn't there often been a racially-exclusive undercurrent running through the entertainment industry, as these examples illustrate:- How did they advertise for these desirable acting jobs, I wonder? https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...GNlzA&usqp=CAU Starring role for Dr. Fu ManChu in new movie (no Chinese applicants please) https://nostalgiacentral.com/wp-cont...nstrels000.jpg Unemployed professional dancer? Great opportunity to join the long-running Black and White Minstrals - but only for white minstrals, of course. Without a second thought, I've enjoyed the Apu character for years but now that your news story brings it to my attention, I feel kind of sad about the casting choice because I know there's a poor Asian guy sitting in a bedsit in Hollywood who was denied his big breakthrough. |

Dunno lol might happen
Then obviously the terror networks will find a new safe haven in taliban run afghanistan and then we're back to square one There's no winning this one we got caught in a snare by trying to occupy this country in the first place. It was a losing move and pulling out will bring some of the chickens home to roost but the alternative is what? Just stay there forever /till we collapse I guess.... |

A mass shooting in the US has long passed being categorized as "I can't believe this news story" I think. Sadly.

Here's an example of how commonplace those mass shootings in the US have become...
The US has reported at least 45 mass shootings in the last month |
New Variant has Double Mutation
Right. So let me see if I understand this. India, which is suffering from millions of infections and can't control the virus, has given us a new variant. Boris Johnson, due to go there on a junket sorry important diplomatic mission next month, has NOT cancelled it but scaled it down to one day? So - he'll be going from the UK (where there are 77 cases of the variant already) risking bringing it back and presumably coming in with no quarantine restrictions as he's the PM. And he's already had Covid. Anyone else think this is irresponsible? Anyone else surprised? No? Just me then. OK. |
Why couldn't Mark Twain have given us some history nursery rhymes to help with toddlers like that?
|
oh hell no not now the UK restrictions are FINALLY being eased somewhat
but no, I'm not surprised, Johnson being the twat he is |

Now this is news. History, in fact.
News Alert: Mars helicopter Ingenuity successfully completed its historic first flight The Ingenuity helicopter has successfully completed its historic flight on Mars and safely landed back on the surface, according to NASA. The first powered, controlled flight on another planet took place at 3:30 a.m. ET. Unlike when the helicopter's fellow traveler, the Perseverance rover, landed on Mars on February 18, there was a bit of wait to know how the helicopter fared in its attempt. |

Given the terrible news of the fire in the hospital in Iraq, I feel this man's quiet heroism needs to be highlighted. I doubt I could have done what he did.
A man who had been visiting his brother described people jumping out of windows to escape. "The fire spread, like fuel ... I took my brother out to the street, next to the checkpoint. Then I came (back) and went up from there. To the last floor, that did not burn. I found a girl suffocating, about 19 years old, she was suffocating, she was about to die," said Ahmed Zaki. "I took her on my shoulders and I ran down. People were jumping... Doctors fell on the cars. Everyone was jumping. And I kept going up from there, got people and come down again," he said. |
Yeah you definitely couldn't lift a teenage girl.
