People around here seem to love hot weather for some weird reason.

Yeah it is I guess what you'd call temperate. We seldom get any sort of real heat - an unseasonably warm day in Summer would be maybe 25 degrees C - and you can almost be guaranteed of rain, but if you hate heat and humidity then this is the place to be. Cost of living is high though, and rents are ridiculous, so I'm told, though I'm a council tenant and technically unemployed so mine is very low.

Can you get subsidized housing in livable neighborhoods in Dublin? Most of the projects I've seen in America have pretty decent quarters but the neighbors tend to be unpleasant to say the least. I remember some cities have rent control and I'm not sure who all accepts Section 8.

I really hate heat and humidity. Not really a fan frigid cold either. In Philly, we get both. A really hot summer day might be 38C and a really cold winter night might be -15C.

Only when communicating with a metric speaker.

I really wouldn't know. We've been living here in this house for over forty years My mam used to pay the rent, then when she passed on we became responsible for the rent, which was relatively high (about 120 Euro a week I think) until I quit my job and Karen became redundant, when it fell to 50. I know there's a bad problem with homelessness here, so unless you can pay the rent to a landlord or can afford to buy a house, you're on the Council's waiting list, which is pretty long, and you get points for having kids and such which (supposedly) moves you up the list. If you get into a decent council house though, like ours, and you keep up your rent, you're golden.

I'm a human, not a speaker. You can't play music through me. Well, I suppose you could try. Watch where you stick that line-in jack! :yikes:

Not saying this isn't true, but when it's grey 24/7 you get depressed. On the rare occasion it's sunny everything just seems way better and my mood improves loads.

It's point of view I guess. You could wish to be in a climate where it was sunny all the time, yet those who live in that climate grow to hate it. To quote Genesis: "In the land of shadowless death they pray for thunderclouds and rain, yet to the multitude who stand in the rain, Heaven is where the sun shines. So the grass will be greener till the stems turn to brown."

I would just like some balance to be honest.

Spring - Sunny, a light breeze, occasional rain storm
Summer - Hot, sunny
Autumn - Sunny, cool, bit of rain
Winter - Snow, ice

I'd be OK with that. Not asking for sun every single day.

I guess the trade off might be extreme weather or something. I'm glad we never have extreme weather. We are very lucky that we don't have to worry about that or about dangerous animals.
