Alot of people are going to vote for him simply because he would be the first black president, and if someone starts pointing fingers at me and yelling "racist", I'll e-murder you. McCain is stupid, and Obama is inexperienced. We're screwed either way. |

I'm not an Obamaniac or anything, but his foreign policy is light years ahead of anything else we've had in possibly the history of our country. The biggest thing I look for right now is a candidate who will make a concerted effort to end Western Imperialism, which is mainly the US at this point. I doubt he'd really accomplish much but at least he'd try and hopefully it wouldn't get worse. I also don't care much about education, unless the candidate advocates real reform instead of just an idiotic 'more funding' rhetoric. Our public school system doesn't need more money, it needs better management of that money.

That's meaningless, see Bush\Cheany for an example. Experience aside, Obama has should nothing to suggest any change will come with his potential presidency anymore then McCain. McCain is exceedingly qualified based on his contributions to this country alone and Obama, while not very clever himself can deliver a well written speech with charisma and charm rivaled only by Clinton in recent memory.

Call it a "bold move" or whatever it was, but do you honestly think Biden would still say he's inexperienced if he wanted to be his running mate? I've never liked Obama since he wanted to do that whole ban gun thing. You're supposed to uphold the constitution, not try to change it. Nevermind the fact that once guns are outlawed, the only one with the guns are the outlaws. I try not to get to wrapped up in politics, it's such a headache. And I don't know a whole hell of alot of what's going on, but put it this way. If you were a psychopath and wanted to go on a shooting spree at a college, would you choose a completely defenseless college where guns were not allowed on campus, or would you choose a college where the campus police are armed? Obama can talk. Alot. And very well. And if he proves me wrong, I'm not going to be asshurt about it. If he's elected, I hope I eat my words. I do not approve of everything McCain wants to do, but I'd rather have him over Obama. No one I wanted to win will get the chance anyway. |

The whole "experience" thing is a smokescreen: How Good Are Experienced Presidents? All other things being equal, yes, I'd rather have the candidate with more experience...but I'm not going to vote for someone who's against me on almost every major policy simply because they're experienced. And re: the two party system; our system of voting is seriously flawed. The "one vote, one person" method all but guarentees that the two-party system will prosper. IRV voting, approval voting, and (preferably) range voting are all superior alternatives. None are perfect, but all encourage multiple parties and greater diversity. There is really no good defense for the two party system. It cannot represent all views, no matter how generalized. In the end, because of the primaries and the "winner takes all" plurality vote, we inevitably end up with two uninsipiring candidates.

the fact that she is some what attractive may work against her... lot of the Hilary fans may allow their jealousy to get the better of them.
This election has become a realty show... it's pathetic.

Well, the fact that the ploy will probably work testifies to the immense ignorance of the American public (and the GOP's willingness to exploit that ignorance).
That's the real tragedy here. This is beyond mere image. These so-called progressive women would rather have an ultraconservative female than a progressive male.
