Never went to church myself aside from going to see a friends christmas play, and my day-cares were in a church. Just never grew up with it, and no convincing argument to make me want to "try things out".
I did play a camel once in a christmas play though

Well, since I last posted on this thread I've been doing a LOT of thinking as to what I actually do believe. I WAS a deist, but then I'm beginning to REALLY think that accepting a completely deistic POV is little more than fudging the question, avoiding answering the actual question. That and it seems logically impossible and seems to leave more questions than it answers.

But when I read my Siddur (Jewish prayer book), I feel much happier. I've been reading a lot of Jewish theology and the basic ideas and it's MUCH closer to what I believe than deism ever was.

I'm seriously going about converting to Judaism.

Well, does the fact that you feel much happier actually mean anything other than endorphines or whatever have been released into your brain?

Of all the major religions in America, I find reform Judaism the most appealing.

What I read when I read a Jewish text, whether it be a Siddur (prayer book), my Tanakh or even a general book, it connects with me on a level I never thought possible. When I say 'happy', I mean not just in the sense of the usual human emotion, but a deep sense of peace and calm.

I think what he was getting at is that just because something makes you feel good doesn't mean it's true.
