I could totally agree with that, there's more logic behind science than religion. I just can't figure out why people still believe what's written in the bible. Even when i was 12 and we were reading passages from it in school i could pick out things that i knew weren't scientifically or logically possible, such as a person concieving without actually having sex which is biologically impossible. As for the whole loaves and fishes story i've heard better fairy tales. There's tons of stuff in the bible that just make me laugh with disbelief.

You made a good point there about earth's distance to the sun and it's ability to maintain life. I firmly believe we're not alone in this universe. There has to be more planets out there that are like earth, and are the same distance from the sun in it's solar system, that can sustain life. Whether the lifeforms on those planets are anyway like the lifeforms here though is a mystery.

Relgious people should not get bent out of shape, they should understand that atheist are using free-will to not believe as theist use to believe (the same free-will God give all human beings). There's no reason they should get bent out of shape.

I don't believe that, but I think it's rational to be a little weary of people who do things based on faith rather than logic, especially those that let faith motivate every single thing they do.

And of course, the most f*cked up sh*t in the history of mankind has been done in the name of faith. This applies to the radical athiests too because being solely convinced that there is no god is in itself a leap of faith. And those people can be just as frightening, as well Nietzsche followers who want to "kill" god, or solipsists who think they are the only valid thing in their existance and therefore "god".

In short, everybody is f*cking crazy. Except for me.

well thanks for your replies and opinions.

I still believe in GOd, In HOPe, and in FAith.

I couldn't be who I am with out it.

It keeps me going!

But who is god or what is god? Why is god always depicted as a human? It seems funny that heaven (and hell) seem to be made for humans, what about the other billions of species on this planet, do they not go to heaven too?

There's no way god could have created us in his own image, he didn't just create us, drop us off here in a spaceship, tell us to behave ourselves and be back to pick us up in a million years. Humans and all other species evolved over millions and millions of years to what they are now.

Religion is for the narrow minded folks. People who take the bible literally need to challenge their own beliefs for once.

Maybe so, but for once I find myself agreeing with Darkest Hour.
The first sentence is of course a stupidly sweeping statement, but the second is accurate.
Anyone who takes, not only the bible, but any religious book literally, should be tied up in a sack and beaten mercilessly with baseball bats.

I certainly agree with it, I just think it's funny coming from the resident conspiracy nut.

I actually agree with this statement. But since it came from DH, oh the irony...

What a soulless statement, every person has the right to cultivate his/her soul, his/her spiritual side, whether through religion or through other means, and who is to say if someone takes a religious book literally.

To each his own; live and let live.
