If you do, you're being as factually based as they are. But assuming that you don't, then there's no real argument here. It's just another statement against the validity of faith.

I don't believe the Bible is accurate, obviously.

But it's something that's clearly in the bible and can't be spun around.

And if you're a pastor, you should probably know that stuff. But as with any fanatical Christian, they can take what they like and run with it, and ignore what they don't like.

It's like how people use the Bible to preach hatred towards homosexuals even though homosexuals are only mentioned in the old testament, which also shuns the eating of pork and shellfish and condones killing people for doing anything on the sabbath. But most Christians don't consider those rules important anymore because the old testament is considered absolete. And yet the gay bashing sticks around even though as far as I know, Jesus didn't have a problem with them.

So a Christian can of course make it up in their mind what rules of the old testament are absolete and which ones still apply.

fundamentalist Christians are, for the most part, some of the most backwards people the universe has to offer. they employ the same gung-ho militaristic evangelism that holds the same spirit as manifest destiny and colonial imperialism (and in many ways resembles it quite a bit).

there are few people i actually hate in the world, Pat Robertson is certainly one of them.

I believe that the Bible is divinely accurate, yes. And I don't believe in all this one road to God garbage they try and pull as an excuse for their ignorance. I'd rather hear somebody say "I don't know" than "God works in mysterious ways".

So I guess what I'm trying to say is I can understand why so many people don't believe in divine accuracy in the Bible, I mean how could something that God directed become so diluted with opinions? People would rather hold to traditions and make their own rules rather than doing some damn research. Rambling now.

Innacurate, "men who lay with men" are listed amoung the people who won't inherit God's Kingdom. I understand what you are saying though.

Jesus ate with men of all sorts, but he was clear that in order to inherit Gods Kingdom (I'll leave the interpretation of what that is to you) you should "flee from fornication". So Jesus didn't preach hatred towards people of any kind, which is why these extremists irk me.

My father is convinced that something, anything is going to happen in 2012.

There are even COMMERCIALS out with information on how you can "protect" yourself. I wish I remembered their website lol. The commercials are almost as creepy as the Scientology ones.

On a side note, who wants to make an infinite calendar anyway? :P
