I find it interesting that I really haven't seen much of the doomsday buzz at all this year, despite the date now being almost upon us. I guess most of the somewhat rational people just got bored with it a long time ago.

I think the people that believe it are probably holed up in their bunkers already...leaving only us rational people for now.

By the way, I'm not sure how the date Dec. 12 came up earlier in the thread, but those who have noted that it is supposed to be Dec. 21 are of course correct. I guess that means "I told you so day" will be on Dec. 22.

Ha, me too. I'm supposed to get my BA in June 2013, and well, it better fucking happen!

When did they find out about this Mayan doomsday crap anyways? And how many supposed "judgment days" or whatever have we had and turned out to be false? I don't believe any of this for a minute. Plus the Mayans didn't even predict the end of their own civilization, so for them to have been able to predict the end of ours is a complete joke.

If anything happens on December 21st... well, nothing will happen except maybe some last minute Christmas shopping on my part.

Hopefully, people will get excited over this and start having "End of the World" parties a few days before. This has been building up for too long to just get ignored at the last minute.

The OP makes the mayans sound like a really stupid group of people. While I don't believe in the 2012 doomsday, they were certainly a highly advanced civilization nonetheless.

Technically I think its my 20th that the world ends supposedly, there is no time zone difference in this foretold reckoning.

I think Darkest Hour was one of the more outspoken believers. They were not many.
