I think if done correctly it's effective, and it's also perfectly fine.

If I ever got hit for any reason (now that I look back at it) I can tell that I deserved it.
Also, I hit my nephew a couple months ago, because he slapped my dog and hurt it.

Some kids just need to be beat.

No, no child is deserving of a beating. They are children and dont know any better no matter how frustrating they are to you. Did you suffer any retaliation from your nephews father? I would be infuriated at the thought of anyone other than my x-wife disciplining my child in to harsh of manner. The thought of someone striking him is something that I dont even want to start to imagine.

lol it's funny that you say that....most people that are against physical discipline seem super sensitive and they have this idea stuck in their heads that physical discipline equals beating the **** out of your kid til they are bruising which is not true.

I can relate to Boozin. Someone raising laying a finger on one of my kids would be completely unacceptable.

I would never smack one of my nephews. And even if I thought that was an okay thing to do, I would never have to because they're well behaved, despite never getting smacks from their parents.
