While the American Academy of Pediatrics doesn't consider circumcision to be medically necessary, there are some medical reasons for performing one. Those include preventing recurring infections of the head of the penis, avoiding obstruction of urine flow that can result when the prepuce's opening narrows, and preventing a tight prepuce from retracting over the glans. Also, circumcision may reduce the incidence of penile cancer (a very rare condition).

Even barring these considerations, infections, including urinary tract infections in infants, are less common in a circumcised penis. That's because a circumcised penis is easier to keep clean. (By pulling back the uncircumcised foreskin and cleaning carefully, a man can reduce the formation of smegma, a cottage cheese-like substance that can lead to a foul odor and infection).

There is much more to this than medical discussion. We're talking about a social decision that will affect the child's sex life. There is nothing harmful or wrong about leaving the skin there. On the other hand the foreskin enhances sex, and removing it desensitizes the head of the penis. Furthermore, it isn't like they couldn't get it snipped during adulthood where it would be far more costly to attach foreskin, and I'm not even sure if you could resensitize the penis.

You do realize that the most sensitive part of the penis happens to be in the foreskin, right? I don't know what about females, but I know I have no intent on cutting my foreskin off. I can't even fathom losing that much feeling during an orgasm.

Every last friday of a month i go to the holocaust center and listen to the sguest speakers it is so sad
i also went through the records and i found a survivor of Auschwitz in my family, she was living in New York so i went up there and i spent a week there listening to her horrifying stories, in 10th grade i remember watching schindler's list in social studies, i cried like a baby..i honestly dont go to temple on a regular basis like i should though

you don't lose any feeling in most cases. (According to Dr. Drew Pinskey) And if you have it done as a child, you never know the difference. It's not essential, but all things equal, it's the better choice.
