Three not two. Three people landed on the moon on that mission. There were also dozens or perhaps hundreds of people at NASA involved in the planning and execution of the landing who were also witnesses.

Can we not move on to bigger and better things like whether or not Same Walton is cryogenically frozen in Colonel Sanders bat cave.

True, if you're talking about literally who went down to the surface it was only two but nevertheless Michael Collins still was present on the mission and was a witness.

Michael Collins was in the Columbia (the lem), and Armstrong Aldrin were in the Eagle (the lunar landing module). Michael Collins was to spot were they landed but he couldn't find it, because they over shot the predesignated landing area. I said two since Collins didn't see them.

Okay but he saw them depart and head toward the surface, no? What's the alternate theory here? They started down toward the surface but then went and hid somewhere instead? Where was there to hide that wasn't on the surface? And was the Eagle's ascent stage even capable of lifting off and flying back to the Columbia if it wasn't launched from a grounded platform?

i think it's quite possible they returned to earth, shot the material in a high-quality studio and came back for Collins, none the wiser.

Yeah, in fact if you listen to the transmissions from when they were heading back to earth in the background you can actually hear Collins asking Aldrin where some McDonald's take-out bags came from. Then you hear Aldrin fumbling over his words for a minute as he tries to lie to Collins and tell him that they've been inside the ship since takeoff.
