Homosexuals aren't as committed to the idea of monogamy and most prefer open relationships.

And no I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

As long as we have penises monogamy will never work. Unless you have incredibly impressive self control, a lot of dedication or a low sex drive, few guys have any of those things and that is the case for obvious biological reasons.

Evidence?

What makes you conclude this, boo boo? (Oops! I just saw Bannister posed the same question!)

Monogamy has little to do with penises, I feel. Both men and women have affairs: "Recent studies reveal that 45-55% of married women and 50-60% of married men engage in extramarital sex at some time or another during their relationship (Atwood & Schwartz, 2002 - Journal of Couple & Relationship Therapy)." Infidelity Statistics

Monogamy is a choice some people make regardless of what their privates want to do.

I doubt that same-sex relationships are less stable than opposite-sex ones, and if they are, the great social pressure against same-sex couples and the frequent lack of legal protection of their unions would be cause enough for any disparity.

Iowa legalized same-sex marriage. That is one of best things about being an Iowan.

Many *** couples negotiate open relationships - SFGate

These are just select examples but there's various statistics that you can look up that suggest open relationships to either be predominate over or equally as common as monogamous ones in homosexual couples.

I admit that I should have replaced "most" and supplement "many" twice in my last sentence.

^ I somehow felt from your first post, that you consider gays as only male homosexuals. What about the penis-less homos ?

That's understandable. It just felt a lot like a sweeping generalization originally.

And corn! Lots of corn.

Anyways, I thought this was interesting, and maybe a little relevant: Study Links *** Marriage Bans to Rise in HIV Rate

It may not be absolutely bulletproof, but it still poses some questions.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Well Melissa you know well how us Americans abuse certain words and I'm so used to saying lesbian that homosexual has become synonymous with "gay male" for me and yes I know that makes absolutely no sense. But then again how often are gay women referred to as homosexuals instead of lesbians? There's not really a term exclusive for gay males, not one that isn't considered derogatory anyway.

Anyway the focal point of my argument is that men have extreme difficulty with monogamy. I'm aware though that women also have sex drives that can threaten a monogamous relationship. I'm not claiming men have more difficulty committing to monogamy than women.

Vegan's statistics are interesting, I'm aware that infidelity with women is common. Though some statistics say it is almost as common for women, some say it is equally as common and some say it is more common, don't know who to believe. It's not that I don't have a healthy dose of skepticism when it comes to statistics.

This isn't just about sex drive btw, I think monogamous relationships have more faults than just that.

I already apologized for phrasing my sentence that way. But again I'm sorry.

i don't need statistics to notice that the majority of homosexuals i know ARE far more open about their promiscuity and polygamy. i don't think they do it more than the heteros i know, they just way more open and in your face about it. especially the ones who are only '***' because they're 'freeing' themselves from religious upbringings.
