Seriously I thought being Emo was so last decade.

I wouldn't call it cowardly. I do think it's naive, though.

Suicide is rage turned inward; sort of a "Look what you made me do" act, but that's not the naive part.

The people you are hoping to hurt the most won't care, and the people you wouldn't want to hurt for the world will be the most broken.

I'm not buying that. I've not known of many people at all who have committed or attempted suicide because they wanted to really teach a lesson to the people who hurt them.

The majority of suicides and attempts I'm familiar with are mainly by people with mental illness and severe depression. The image of the person angry and crying that many people associate with suicide is inaccurate. It's more of a complete numbness and indifference.

I agree. I think vindictive, vengeful suicide is rarer than people think, most mentally ill people are too isolated in their self-loathing to even bother with vengeance.

Sometimes, I would say it's taking the easy way out. But, who are we to judge when we couldn't possibly know everything they were going through? Imagine life being so bad you don't want to live it anymore. Depression and suicide are huge issues, and people need to know they weren't meant to do life alone. They were meant to love and be loved.

Some kid killed himself live on his webcam. He was having second thoughts, but the people on the forum he was a member of kept telling him to go through with it.

That's terrible. I wonder if the "Just Do It" shirt was intentional?
