Default NZ Mine Disaster

I am pretty sad to say that 29 miners are trapped in a mine in New Zealand and it's look pretty grim.

This is so soon after the Chilian mine disaster!

To me what is more freaky is a 17 year-old trapped in there had only started on the day it occurred.

Robot broken in mine, relatives told - National - NZ Herald News

It's been 5 days...I pray they get out.

Very tragic, indeed. People from aged 17 to 62. Let's hope it ends as well as the Chile incident.

I highly doubt it. If they are not already dead from the fireball from the explosion which would have traveled through the entire mine, they will will die from lack of oxygen and high methane levels.

Just in case anyone cares, the miners are now assumed dead as there was a second explosion.

How awful, Vanilla. What a horrible way to die and what a horrible way to lose loved-ones.

Hardly any mine disasters in like 9 years and then 3 huge ones in 2010. Crazy.

I don't think that's true. I think it's more of a case of the media picking up more stories of that kind because the Chilean miner disaster proved to be so popular.

RIP to all the miners who lost their lives in this tragedy It's so sad. I was only in Greymouth in February. Thoughts are with my friends across the Tasman. <3
