Hehe

In all seriousness, I hate to be that brag and I realize I've been doing it more than one should if you don't want people to start think you're a bit douchey about it. A reason why I've been mentioning here vs. there is that I often feel people in America for example are not aware that things can and are being done differently in other countries. Generally speaking, In the world of culture, media and communication, the US is the giver and we're the reciever (we're a tiny country) so most US citizens may not be aware that prisons where inmates are not being punished so much as rehabilitated actually exist. To show that alternatives not only exist but that they also work is a highly valid argument, but I realize it would reflect better on me if I started using examples from other countries than my own.

if you belong to a family of criminals, damn right you betta be!

this is too deep and too sad for me to discuss. this is indeed very disappointing and disturbing so i'm not going to explain my side on that one. and besides, this is completely out of the topic so you're not making sense Paloma.

Only he's been getting beaten by gaurds on a daily basis and is looking to channel some of that anger out onto someone else. He comes from a broken home and was raised in poverty up until he was a lil older. Started making money the only way he really knew how, because he wasnt given all the oppurtunities at a education that most are but he wants to try an provide for his GF and child (that he is missing..cause just cause someone is locked up doesnt mean they are emotionless).
He also happens to be about 6'4 and 220 pounds of muscle cause all he's been doing for the last year is eating and doing as many pushups and crunches and squats that he possibly can to block out the regret he has for the mistake he made, the pain of being beaten every day, avoiding gang rape in the shower, getting shanked, and wondering and worring about his family every day, along with a million other daily stresses that you have in jail or prison. He had never been in trouble in the past for any kind of violent crime or had a mean bone in his body. Till he was encarcerated and beaten daily for days, months, years.

Now...do you have the same outlook all alone in a cell with this guy as you do typing your tough guy attitude on an internet forum about his situation? Or would you rather that maybe different measures had been taken to rehabilitate this man who was'nt an angry out for blood convict until he went to jail/prison.
frankly bloozin, you're getting stupider and stupider by the day. please look at the bolded words above and tell you that all those i am not, do not do, untrue about me. if you want to make a scenario, make sure it stays with the facts. especially the gf and child part, in case you don't know, i'm gay. so please edit your scenario to a more realistic one. dupe.

With this mentality, it's no suprise that the percentage of prisoners that go back to prison is so high.
first of all, i'm against child beating. perhaps a little bit of caning but never on beating. i love children 1 million times more than pr*ck prisoners. so go figure.

with regards to prisoners who are leaving prison after everyday discipline, it does not make them less violent, that i agree, but it will restrain them from being one.

Thanks man its good to be appreciated! This is where you would want me to try an explain to you the hypothetical scenerio that was mentioned above in detail but I know you understand it already and are just fishin for a rise. You do have your scheme down cold with the way you bait people into meaningless debates until they become utterly disgusted with, you ill give you that. It has been good for occasional laughs here and there.

Fact is man, not every person in prison is rotten to the core and I was just trying to get you to realize that. Not every criminal is a rapist, murderer, child molester,ect...etc. While prisons not intended to be a fun place it should'nt be a place where people in positions of authority inflict their abusive wrath just simply because they can.

No, you are certainly correct. I was just teasing you. This isn't the first time you have brought up your country and they are obviously doing things right by using alternative methods.

arguing with you is pointless because you don't listen to opinions on reasons thrown at you.
but let me correct your last point, positions of authority to do not discipline inmates just because they're abusive or power tripper, they're disciplining them because they deserve it. get it?

that's impossible. i'm a law-abiding citizen and would take probably a million reincarnations of myself before I become a law offender.
