Generally, I think the porn industry is a little misogynistic. There are all sorts of porn, also the "female friendly" sort, but I dare say women are commonly treated in a degrading way. Movies where women are commanded around, slapped and even choked. These are sex games so of course the slaps and chokes are not all that physically harmful, but the whole mindset behind it is still a little demeaning.

I think while this sort of stuff was considered more kinky back in the day, it is getting more normal now .. which I don't really think is good.

demeaning? what if they LOVE it!?

I don't know things that used to be considered kinky are so plain and vanilla nowadays.

But on the other hand now that it's lost it's shock value I imagine the demand for it would fall, and if there's less demand they'll be less of it around, using your feelings on it that should be a good thing shouldn't it?

I think it was once.....back in the 80's. Now I think women have the upper hand in the industry. More women are producing and directing porn when before it was a male dominated profession. Maybe I am wrong but that is how I see it.........

Yeah there are all sorts/types of porn because there are all sorts of people wanting to see all sorts of different things. lol.
You like something then you get sick of it and you want to see something different.......... just like everything............I suppose you need variety. I don't know.

There is always a market for what the viewer buyer will buy....

I know what you are saying Tore and I get it......

Generally I don't think people don't dial back their porn, they escalate it. So if a light slapping isn't doing it anymore, they step it up a bit, because nothing less than a light slapping will do either.

Again, it's tough to say whether this is misogynistic on it's own, imo. A fair amount of women actually quite like that treatment particularly commands and slaps. Are they in the minority? Probably. Is it a generational or youth thing? No idea to be honest, but then the sales of 50 shades of grey are anything to go by the older ladies quite like it too...

Having it in porn is different than having it in a relationship though, it's hot when it's a relationship thing and can be romantic/loving too, because it requires a lot of trust in exploring a fantasy, and faith that your partner is sensitive to your comfort zones & wouldn't actually do anything to hurt you.

People act like porn exists in a vacuum, lol. But people do really have some strange fetishes and fantasies but the thing about porn is that it blurs the line of consent, which is essential for any sexual activity. Otherwise, it becomes sexual assault/rape.

Having fetishes is totally fine and people shouldn't be judged for them, unless they involve harming others and non-consent. Having a partner to explore such things with is the best thing in the world, though.

I guess that bit is true. Personally I'm easy when it comes to those actions, it's usually the girl who asks, insinuates or initiates it. If they want it its fine but they don't really give me extra kicks unless I'm really in the mood for it, which is maybe 5% of the time?
