Puerto Rico Considering Statehood

Oh hey look, another thread on American politics!
So here on November 6th, we had a presidential election and the legalization on marijuana in two states. But under our radar and across the water Puerto Rico held a vote to apply for statehood. It's too close to tell right now, but if this passes all that the island would need is congress approval to become the 51st state.

I would give a medal to anybody who could tell the difference without counting.

I don't think it's going to happen, at least not right now. It doesn't seem like a large enough percentage of Puerto Ricans want it to pass.

Bah. It will be really noticeable. 51 states would fuck up the whole pattern. If we add Puerto Rico, we need to split California into two states at the same time because 52 stars will fit better.

We'll just let Texas secede like they're always threatening to do.

Oooh we should cut that whole hellhole from Fresno to Modesto out.
Or maybe make Oakland a city-state!

The problem with Puerto Rico is most don't know English and I doubt right wing people will be happy if this becomes the 51st state.
