Irish athletes arrived home today. All survived thank god but when interviewed for the news one of them broke down on camera, poor guy. Can't imagine what it must be like.

I talked to my mother earlier tonight. She's a nurse at one of the local hospitals and has been taking care of a couple of the victims. She's a very tough person but still sounded extremely shaken up. She had some disturbing stories, though some of her co-workers experienced much worse. One or two of them were right there when it happened.

i don't really know much about 4chan, but i hear they're aimed at humor. regardless of what degree to which that might be true, this 4chan article is based on a reddit thread wherein a guy basically created a place for people to put their photos and point things out in them that may help the cause. it's like an open-source criminal investigation. i'm not saying i agree with the idea of publicly (virally) discussing images of real people under that kinda light, but it's not actually a joke. why 4chan reposted it, i have no idea.

So are you saying the photo with the woman's ass circled with the comment "da bomb" next to it was serious?

yeah... no. i'm not saying that. i don't know why that is in there, but in the same photo a dude with a back pack or satchel also has a red circle around him. it's a much thinner stroke on the circle too, which might be evidence of the woman's ass being 4chan's doing and not the group who actually compiled the shots originally. really i have no idea. maybe the original starter of the reddit thread is 15 and his ADD kicked in.

The fact that the person(s) responsible for this act is going to get what they want, regardless makes me sick. What they wanted was attention, but it's not like you can turn the other way, but still. I mean, if it is an extremist group they get the satisfaction of killing and terrorizing innocent people in the name of pushing some delusional agenda, or maybe it's just some deranged ego maniac with a twisted view of the world, either way they're going to get what they want.

I'm not one for politics, but as a person words just fail me as to why someone would think this is really ok.

Surely not? If it had been, that black post box would have been reduced to a tangle of twisted metal, as it's right beside it, but in both pictures it's virtually untouched.
