If Pan is entitled to an opinion, shouldn't Janszoon be entitled to a tone?

Especially considering its text. He didn't even use HTML formatting.

I'm not on anyone's side. Telling someone to "shut the fuck up", regardless of their opinion, is not apt.

I'm not arguing that point, I'm simply saying that doesn't mean that BD is taking Pan's side.

your comment is rude. it is tactless. it is insulting. by contrast, mine is open-minded. it is undetermined and open for discussion. it insults no one. it is tactless insofar as perhaps needing its own thread. i can admit that.

as far as who started the circus... i just don't think that was me.
Uh...lets stop the train right there. "Open-minded" is not what it is. Open-minded should not mean all any crackpot idea to hold court with rationality and fact.

Your "open-mindedness" means that if I say OJ planted the bombs, you would have to believe me. If thats the logic you're defending, be my guest, but its not the common parlance associated with "open-mindedness."

Furthermore, I'd like to refute your use of the word "research." What did you research, and what documents (not blogs, factual publications reviewed by peers" did you read. There are no reports to date that have any bearing beyond what a twitter feed currently has. You didn't research anything, you read what some tin-foil hat-wearing maniac wrote who's divorced from reality and takes pleasure in scaring the gullible in the face of an international tragedy.

Also, pleas PM me on your thoughts about the moon landing and the JFK assassination.

No, you bringing your conspiracy theory crap into this thread is what's rude. The fact that you do it every time there's some kind of tragedy is what's rude. It insults people who are dealing with a reality that affects their loved ones by trying to turn what they are dealing with into X-Files episode.

You want to believe in whatever you want, go ahead. Just please try and show some tact. You yourself admit it doesn't belong in this thread, keep that in mind in the future.

Cool. If someone ever tries to kill your family maybe we can get Pan to come spin some fun stories about black helicopters for you. Then we can all critique how polite your response is.

well, my post started with "i'm not siding with the mother, but i certainly don't outright deny the viability of her claims." this, in concert with everything else i said and the way i worded it, was supposed to reflect the fact that i don't actually believe anything that i'm hearing and seeing, but making damn sure that i take the time to consider as many angles as possible.

please reiterate the part underlined, as i flat out don't understand your point. i'm sure you have one (and i'm not being belligerent or sarcastic), just something about the wording or something is not letting it click in my head.

as far as research, the only documents that will ever come out of this are police reports and court filings. i haven't been able to find a police report yet, and the court filings obviously don't exist. i would argue though that research isn't strictly limited to official documents. i've listened to his aunt speak. i listened to a friend (touted as a friend, but is actually more of a close-ish acquaintance) of the 19 year old. and i basically read and watch as much news as i can. i stay away from blogs and "tin foil hat" sites, thank you very much. i have no desire to immerse myself in conspiratorial thought. but when i see inconsistencies, i want to know more.

your assumptions are scary.

OK then, Mr. Brainwashed-by-the-international-round-earthers. I see that you're not open-minded enough to consider the flat earth evidence.

"The evidence for a flat earth is derived from many different facets of science and philosophy. The simplest is by relying on ones own senses to discern the true nature of the world around us. The world looks flat, the bottoms of clouds are flat, the movement of the sun; these are all examples of your senses telling you that we do not live on a spherical heliocentric world. This is using what's called an empiricist approach, or an approach that relies on information from your senses. Alternatively, when using Descartes' method of Cartesian Doubt to skeptically view the world around us, one quickly finds that the notion of a spherical world is the theory which has the burden of proof and not flat earth theory.

Perhaps the best example of flat earth proof is the Bedford Level Experiment. In short, this was an experiment preformed many times on a six-mile stretch of water that proved the surface of the water to be flat. It did not conform to the curvature of the earth that round earth proponents teach.

Many other experiments demonstrating the lack of curvature in the earth may be found in Earth Not a Globe by Samuel Rowbotham"

Oh, and I know you're gonna insist on the last word, so here's my last word.

Goodbye.

Welcome to my ignore list.

Either someone is blocking me, or I have no idea who this would be directed at.
