Fluff, I have already pointed out (though you seem to have ignored/missed it, but come to the same conclusion) that what you're talking about is not misogyny but chauvinism. A misogynist believes women are worthless and hates them, so why would he care about hitting one? Whereas a chauvinist seems to be more "I'm superior to women" which can also backflip with "Women can't defend themselves so I'll defend them." I think a chauvinist may be more likely to leap to the defence of a woman getting attacked certainly than a misogynist, who would probably cheer the attacker on.

Well, shoot! If that makes me a chauvinist then sign me up!

As for hitting back, well most times you can restrain, hold, or otherwise stop the woman from hitting you as most times they're going to be smaller and slighter than you (though nails can hurt no doubt!) but look, we're not going to agree here: to me, there is no situation, other than the ones I described (bitch comes at ME with a goddamn signed Picasso she's goin' DOWN!)

where I would consider hitting a woman. I'd rather protect myself against her blows, get beaten up and make her feel bad for attacking someone who was too much of a gentleman to fight back. THAT'll show her!
