Damn you. I'd kill to not have to assume that half the people you meet don't believe in evolution. Specifically I'd kill that.

i tell people i'm atheist if they bring it up then we might get into it a little bit but ultimately i take the position that i think the stories are fake but i don't know at the end of the day and i don't really care if they want to believe in it. it really hasn't been an issue for me so far and i live in the middle of the bible belt. i do meet people who believe what i consider to be dumb **** but it really doesn't bother me that much, i just find it a bit strange.

Yeah, I mean, I've had some issues with religious people being prejudiced against my atheism.
At the same time, some of my best friends are religious. Go figure.
I guess a certain percentage of any demographic are *******s, and vice versa

I find that in Canada, there is not so much contention between the theist and atheist. Probably because there aren't so many fundamentalist weirdos here. Most of the religious I've met are quite liberal too.

i live in the bible belt and like i said i haven't had any real issues with it. the worst i've had are snarky dumb questions like "if there's no god then why is the sky blue? "

of course there are the annoying preachy types but then there are atheists like that too. the kind of people to whine over a local nativity display and **** like that.

According to a large part of my religious family members with their forwarded emails and shared Facebook posts, it's the Christians who are being persecuted in modern America.

As a Christian, I am SO ****ing tired of morons saying this. No, you are not persecuted you idiot. What you are experiencing is called "not having everyone around you agree with your ludicrous and sometimes borderline insane beliefs." Move to Iran or North Korea and then we'll talk about the persecution you're facing, but until then, shut it.
